WRFL SET TO SOCKIT2MND

FightMND is Australia’s leading Independent Motor Neurone Disease association, fighting to find a cure for through fundraising initiatives such as the Big Freeze, Daniher’s Drive and now the Sockit2MND Round.

Since launching in 2014, FightMND has committed more than $23 million into research designed to take potential treatments from the science lab to the MND patient and to ultimately find a cure. In addition, the organisation has invested $2.5 million into purchasing vital equipment to assist with the care of MND patients across Australia.

The WRFL and AFL Victoria are proud to partner with FightMND for the Sockit2MND Round this weekend.


SOCIAL MEDIA 

Participating WRFL clubs are encouraged to promote their involvement in the dedicated Round across social media. Get creative and have some fun with the socks! When posting, please ensure you use the official hashtag #Sockit2MND and tag the Western Region Football League.


SOCK IT FROM THE POCKET 

We are asking you to SOCK IT FROM THE POCKET.

Whether you are at training, going for a quick kick or attending a game of footy, get someone to take a video of you kicking a goal from the pocket with your goal celebration and go in the running to win a Sherrin prize.

If you have the blue Sockit2MND socks make sure you are wearing them, but if you don’t have the socks, don’t worry you can still get involved.

The competition is open to everyone, from Seniors through to Juniors, so get creative!

We will be sharing all your goals across our Social Media channels.

The competition will close on Friday June 22nd at 5pm.


FUNDRAISING IDEAS 

Clubs are encouraged to wear the Sockit2MND socks or hold a fundraiser around the club such as a raffle to help raise funds for FightMND.
