VU WRFL NETBALL – ROUND 2 RESULTS
North Footscray has made the perfect start to the Victoria University WRFL Netball Division 2 competition, winning its second straight game.
It was a consistent performance from the Devils, who defeated Laverton Magpies 37-20.
Defender Jessica Sanderson and wing attack Nikaela Genio led the Devils to the win, both players were among the best on court.
The win has put North Footscray in top spot on the Division 2 ladder. They are joined by Braybrook 2 and Point Cook Centrals Hammerhead Sharks as the only undefeated teams in the competition.
An impressive third quarter was the difference in Braybrook’s 31-16 win over Spotswood Green.
The Brookers shot 12 goals to Spotswood’s 3, recording an unassailable lead heading into the final quarter.
Emily Burge and Cass Pell played well in their respective thirds for Braybrook.
Suns Blazers won its first ever WRFL Netball game, defeating Manor Lakes Storm 2 44-33.
Suns shooter Tyler Stephens was the main target in the goal ring, and she delivered, shooting 39 goals.
Emily Evans provided plenty of assists into goals, working hard across the court and feeding the ball nicely into the Suns shooters.
In the final game of the Round, Point Cook Centrals Hammerhead Sharks defeated Lakers Blue 32-24.
Aimee James has continued her great shooting from last season, shooting 25 goals in the victory.
