VU WRFL NETBALL RESULTS – ROUND 6
Manor Lakes Storm 2 have come from behind in the final quarter against Point Cook to win their third match of the Victoria University WRFL Netball Division 2 season.
The Storm were down by one at three-quarter time, but rallied in the final quarter to overtake the ladder-leaders, winning 29-27.
Ashlee Vaughan shot 18 goals in the victory, bringing her tally to 92 goals across four games in 2022.
For Point Cook, defenders Jane Goodier and Jo Crozier battled well.
The Bulldogs, still sitting in top spot on the ladder, will have the bye this Friday night, while Manor Lakes Storm will aim to win its fourth straight match when they go head-to-head with Spotswood Green.
Lakers Blue defeated Spotswood Green 25-18.
Led by Kristie Parker in defence and Jacinta Love in attack, the Lakers were too strong for Spotswood.
In the final game of Division 2, Point Cook Centrals Hammerhead Sharks scored a 15 goal victory over North Footscray Red Devils 1.
It was a dominant performance by the Sharks, who shot 11 goals in the opening quarter.
The Devils won the final quarter by goal, but were ultimately no match for the Sharks, who sit in second spot.
In Round 7 the Devils will take on the Suns Blazers after they had the bye, while Point Cook Centrals Hammerhead Sharks take on Lakers Blue.
