TRUGANINA THUNDER JOIN WRFL

The Western Region Football League will this season welcome its 35th club, with the Truganina Thunder Football Club joining the league.

The club will join the WRFL’s junior ranks, aiming to field Under 8, Under 9, Under 10 and Under 10 Girls teams in 2019.

Truganina Thunder president Nick Ladbrooke said club officials, parents and players were looking forward to the season.

“It means a lot to our group and community,” he said.

“We have been born from the Truganina Auskick group, which has grown every year. Now those kids have somewhere to play junior football and belong to a club in their community.”

Truganina Thunder will be based at Mainview Boulevard in Truganina and will wear green and navy-blue guernsey’s.

Mr Ladbrooke said the suburb of Truganina was growing every day.

“AFL is alive and strong in this community. We are looking forward to growing and showing different groups of people they can be part of our Club and enjoy the sport,” he said.

“We thank the WRFL and affiliate Clubs for endorsing our entry into the league and look forward to hosting clubs at Mainview Boulevard.”
