TARNEIT RECORD BACK-TO-BACK WINS

Sunshine Heights are back on the winners list, defeating Laverton by 149-points at Ainsworth Reserve in the Alan Mance Motors Division 3 competition.

The Dragons dominated throughout the match with 10 different goal-scorers, including a bag of nine from Nicholas Mallia.

Giovanni Raffaele and William Tsam booted three apiece for the home side.

Jacob Poa was awarded best afield for the Dragons, combining with Daniel Parsons and Daniel Tabb who also put in impressive performances.

The Dragons will have a tough challenge next week against ladder-leaders Albanvale.

The Cobras enjoyed a 72-point victory over Braybrook on the weekend.

It was a tight tussle early, with both teams tied up at quarter time.

However, the Cobras took charge from there, piling on the goals.

Liam Montrose, Nathan Johnson and Darren Borg all registered four goals for Albanvale, as Borg’s efforts were recognised as most impressive on the day.

Daniel Backus managed three goals, while Reece Duffield was another standout contributor for the visitors.

On the other hand, Luke Zammit and Rhys Mutch were valiant in defeat.

The Brookers have the bye next week.

Elsewhere, Tarneit recorded back-to-back wins, beating North Sunshine by 56-points.

Brent Taylor was the standout player for Tarneit, best on ground with five goals.

Brent Sheean and Jai Carlton were also fantastic for the victors.

For North Sunshine, Assad Semaan kicked three goals and was superb.

North Sunshine will be searching for their first win when they play Laverton next week.

Tarneit face a difficult task, playing the Suns who are coming off the bye.
