SUNS, BROOKERS, COBRAS WIN IN DIVISION 3

The Wyndham Suns kicked nine goals to two in the second half against Sunshine Heights to continue their unbeaten run in Alan Mance Motors Division 3.

Led by Josh Foster and Michael Ryan, the home side, came out after firing after half-time, winning 15.5. (95) to 6.3. (39).

Dean Cachia and Shane Fitzgerald combined for nine goals.

The Suns’ undefeated streak is now at eight games. They will be tested in Round 12, when they take on Albanvale at Robert Bruce Reserve on Saturday.

For Sunshine Heights, the result is a disappointing one as they have now slipped to fourth place on the ladder, with Braybrook jumping into third spot.

The Brookers defeated Laverton by 152-points.

Nathan Smith was best on ground, kicking eight goals. Shaun Buttigieg-Clarke also bagged six goals in the big win.

Finally, Albanvale defeated Tarneit 13.8. (86) to 6.9. (45).

Only three points separated the two teams at quarter time, but a strong second quarter from the Cobras – they kicked five goals to one – was the difference. Albanvale controlled the match thereafter.

Their attention now turns to the ladder-leaders the Suns. The last time they met, the Suns won by 37-points.
