ROADRUNNERS SNATCH FIRST VICTORY

By JASON DOWLIN

Albanvale has had another strong win over a finals aspirant, and now join the Wyndham Suns as the only undefeated teams in the Division 3 competition after four rounds.

The Cobras kicked 11 goals in the second half to storm to a 18.13. (121) to 8.10. (58) victory over the Dragons at Robert Bruce Oval on Saturday afternoon.

Midfielder Bobby Saric kicked five goals and was best on ground. He was well supported by Daniel Bartolo who booted three majors as well, Dean Formosa and Ricky Cameron also got plenty of ball for the Cobras.

Matthew Gauci kicked two goals and Kyall Parker was amongst the best for the Dragons.

Braybrook won every quarter of their clash with Tarneit at Wooten Road Reserve and were far too strong on their way to a 59-point win and now sit third on the ladder.

The 15.9. (99) to 5.10. (40) victory was set up by star forward Shaun Buttigieg-Clarke who kicked four goals and Brad Busuttil who slotted three majors of his own.

Caiden Vorano and Nicholas Papakalodoukas were fantastic for the Brookers. Club leading goal-kicker Ryan Potter kicked two goals for the Titans.

North Sunshine survived a late last quarter surge from Laverton to record a nail-biting one-point victory at Laverton Park.

Poor kicking at goal almost cost the Roadrunners the game as the Magpies stormed home in the last quarter to hit the front at the 21-minute mark of the final term, but a late goal by Ali Edin Ben Mabrouk handed North Sunshine their first win of the season and got them off the bottom of the ladder.

Samson Farley was extremely dangerous in the forward line and tried to drag the Magpies across the line by kicking six goals.

Next week Braybrook welcome Laverton to Pennell Reserve, Sunshine Heights take on the Suns, who are fresh from the bye in the match of the round at Ainsworth Reserve and Tarneit will host Albanvale at Wooten Road Reserve.

North Sunshine has the bye.
