MEN’S HEALTH ROUND 2022

This weekend the WRFL will be raising awareness of men’s health as we host a special EJ Whitten/Rule Prostate Cancer Round.

It is the first time in three years we have hosted the round.

As part of the round, a player from each Senior Men’s team will be presented with an E.J. Whitten Medal.

Rule Prostate Cancer will also hold a pop-up tent at the Caroline Springs versus Altona game, with a nurse on hand to test blood pressure.

A note from Rule Prostate Cancer:

Just imagine a day where no man will die from prostate cancer. We have!!

And to realise this wonderful vision two major prostate cancer organisations The Australian Prostate Centre (APC) and The E.J. Whitten Foundation are combining to form RULE Prostate Cancer, turbo charging the ability to achieve this purpose.

Prostate cancer is a tough one.  Treatments can be challenging with side effects that need specialist care.  One in six Australian men will be impacted by prostate cancer, with too many losing their lives to the disease.

Since COVID, too many men have put off getting tests for prostate cancer. We know early detection is saving lives, so we need to act.

Under the RULE Prostate Cancer banner, the Australian Prostate Centre will continue its world-class work in North Melbourne, focused on helping more men and their families access prostate cancer treatment, support and research.

They have successfully treated over 25,000 Australian men over the last 5 years. Australian Prostate Cancer offers all Aussie men complete treatment and care, including specialised recovery services, to get men with prostate cancer back on track sooner.

Together, we can beat this disease.
