By KEL ROWE

Ladders are taking shape at the completion of the weekend’s fixture of the VU Polytechnic Senior Women’s competition, with both divisions locking in their top-of-the-table contenders.

The Friday night clash between Point Cook and Braybrook/Albanvale played out under lights on Saltwater Reserve, with the Bulldogs locking in a huge 144-point victory over their visitors.

Tegan Hamilton picked up where she left off in the previous round — kicking six majors for the home side, while Maddison Cooper performed under pressure and was named in best for the Braybrook/Albanvale side.

The first game on Saturday saw Caroline Springs rise back to the top of the Division 1 ladder after a comprehensive 61-point win over hosts Manor Lakes.

Lakers young gun Jacinta Kondis was the star up forward, kicking six goals for the game. Dijana Vasilevska and Ashlee Wallis also played well.

Jaimi Paten and Lauren Winter worked hard for the home side.

In Division 2, West Footscray hosted the Caroline Springs, keeping them to just two points in a 41-point win.

Sophie Merryfull and Katherine Belcher played well for the Roosters, while Krystal Delanty worked hard under pressure in the Laker’s defensive half.

The final hit-out of the weekend saw Wyndhamvale take on Laverton, with the Falcons registering a 63-point victory at the final siren. Mariah Burton was influential for the home side, kicking two goals.
