HAWKS FLY HIGH

Glen Orden have been crowned the 2019 WRFL Division 3 Senior champions, after defeating Albanvale at VU Whitten Oval on Saturday.

The Hawks finished the regular season in fourth place, but thanks to a strong finals campaign, are now premiers of Division 3 for 2019.

Glen Orden led at every change and when the final siren sounded were ahead by 26-points.

It was a fast start that was the difference for the Hawks, they kicked four goals to one in the opening term.

Albanvale fought back in the second quarter to close the margin to just two goals, but it was all Glen Orden thereafter, winning 10.12-72 to 6.10-46.

Marc Yates from Glen Orden was named best on ground.

In the Reserves, Tarneit claimed back-to-back Reserves premierships, defeating Albanvale 10.13-73 to 6.5-41.

Daniel Holman kicked three goals in the victory, while James Hopla was judged best on ground.
