GRETO POWERS DRAGONS TO VICTORY

By LEO MULLALY

A six-goal performance from Robert Greto in his milestone match has powered the Dragons to an important victory over Braybrook at Ainsworth Reserve in the Alan Mance Motors Division 3 competition.

Greto’s performance was recognised as best afield in his side’s 47-point win.

The Dragons controlled the contest throughout the game, doing the most damage in the third quarter with five goals to Braybrook’s one.

The Brookers failed to capitalise in front of goal, registering 16 behinds from 22 scoring shots.

James Vella (two goals), Massimo Sergio and George Perry were fantastic for the Dragons.

On the other hand, Michael Wilson and Dion Carabott were valiant for the visitors.

It was a crucial win for Sunshine Heights, who now sit two wins ahead of Tarneit and have closed the gap on Braybrook in third place.

The Dragons move to play Laverton next week, while Braybrook will face a tough challenge when they play Albanvale.

Elsewhere, the Cobras enjoyed a 136-point win over North Sunshine and the Suns continued their winning form, handing Laverton a 270-point loss.

Daniel Bartolo slotted six goals in the Cobras victory, alongside Nathan Johnson and Liam Montrose who both nailed five goals.

Brock Mclarty was outstanding for the Cobras, while Ibrahim Atik was best for North Sunshine.

Meanwhile it was an epic 21-goal haul for Dean Cachia that led the Suns on the weekend.

Cachia was best-on-ground as the Suns further solidify their premiership credentials.

Luke Cachia (six goals) and Blake Jago (five goals) were also brilliant.

The Suns have the bye next week, as North Sunshine come up against Tarneit.
