Spotswood have announced junior girls premiership coaches Chris Grant and Ian Allen as their new Senior Women’s co-coaches.

Chris Grant, an AFL Hall of Fame member and currently the Western Bulldogs’ Director of Football, has been coaching at Spotswood alongside Allen for the past five years.

The duo has coached Spotswood to back-to-back Under 18 Girls Premierships in 2018 and 2019. As well as coaching the Under 15 Girls team to premiership success in their inaugural season in the then combined WRFL/EDFL competition.

In 2018, Allen was also awarded the AFL Victoria WRFL Youth Coach of the Year.

Grant and Allen take over from Theo Theodorou, who has coached the Senior Women’s team since its inception.

Theodorou and Spotswood claimed the ultimate success last season, winning the Victoria University Polytechnic WRFL Senior Women’s flag, defeating Caroline Springs in a thrilling decider.

The Wolves ended the year having lost just two games and recorded a percentage of 1250%.
