FOX BECOMES A ROOSTER

West Footscray has appointed former Altona Reserves premiership coach Ian Fox as their new senior coach.

Fox, who coached the Vikings to the ultimate success in the Reserves in 2018, takes over from Shane Lucas, who has been at the helm for the past four seasons.

More recently, Fox has been assisting the coaching team at Braybrook.

“It’s both exciting and a privilege to be given the opportunity to help grow and develop this historic club through this part of it’s history,” Fox said.

“I am looking forward to the 2021 season, to consolidate and build on the past five years as return after a year out of football due to COVID.

“There will be many challenges, but as a team – players, coaches, support staff and all associated with the West Footscray Football Club – we look forward to not only meeting those challenges, but exceeding the.”

West Footscray say they are excited by the energy, enthusiasm and experience Ian will bring to the club and that they are looking forward to seeing his strong leadership in action as he guides the Roosters through the 2021 season.
