DEVILS WIN IN EMPHATIC FASHION

NORTH Footscray bounced back in emphatic fashion on the weekend, after suffering a loss to premiership contender Point Cook the previous week.

The reigning premiers put on a dominant display against Newport Power on Saturday, winning by 69-points at Hansen Reserve.

The Devils had 10 different goal kickers in the win. Tyron Montebruno was the main target up forward, he booted five goals.

Fresh from his Under-19 WRFL Interleague match, Rylan Williams also kicked three.

North Footscray restricted Newport’s scoring in the second half. The Power only managed to score 17-points in the third and fourth quarters.

Meanwhile, the Devils pilled on 12 goals to run out 20.10. (130) to 9.7. (61).

The club will look to head into the bye weekend full confidence. They take on Albanvale this Saturday.

Newport Power will be hoping to get its season back on track when they take on Parkside.

The Magpies battled against Point Cook, but could match-it with the premiership contenders over four quarters, losing by 43-points.

Alex Grigg was influential for the Bulldogs, he kicked two goals in a best on ground performance.

Kirk Herberle was the leading goal scorer for Point Cook with three majors.

For Parkside, Jesse Fortune was among the best.

The Yarraville Seddon Eagles won its fifth game of the season after defeating Albanvale 23.18. (156) to 4.4. (28).

It was a complete performance for the Eagles, who shared the goal kicking load.

Corey Salvador kicked five goals, Eddie Ford four goals, Lachlan Huell three goals and Brandon Lester three goals.

The Eagles currently sit on top of the ladder. They boast a percentage of 261% and have been the best defensive team in the competition, with teams scoring a combined 233 points over the first six games.

Manor Lakes also won its third straight game on Saturday, defeating West Footscray by 17-points.

After a disappointing start to the season, the Storm have strung together some better games and now currently sit in fourth place.

Nathan Montague led the way for the Storm, he kicked five goals in the win. He was well supported by Mitchell Davis who kicked four.

For West Footscray, Darcy McCallum also kicked five goals.

The Roosters will next face Point Cook at Saltwater Reserve, while Manor Lakes will be tested by the Eagles.
