COBRAS BOOK GRAND FINAL SPOT

Albanvale have booked their spot in the 2019 Division 3 Grand Final, after a thrilling Second Semi Final with Sunshine Heights on Saturday.

It was an entertaining clash at Pennell Reserve, with the Cobras coming from behind at three quarter time to score the win, earning a Grand Final berth at Whitten Oval in two weeks’ time.

Kym Taylor, Bobby Saric and Dane Thomas each kicked two goals in the 11.13. (79) to 10.9. (69) victory.

David Azzopardi was named best on ground in the victory for the Cobras.

Matthew Gauci kicked three goals for Sunshine Heights, Jeremy Angelowitsch was also outstanding.

All is not lost for the Dragons, who after finishing second on the ladder during the regular season, have the double chance.

They will take on Glen Orden in the Preliminary Final on Sunday after the Hawks defeated the Titans in the First Semi Final.

Glen Orden led at every change, but it was a dominant third term, that was the difference.

The Hawks kicked six goals to one in the third quarter to lead by 45-points at the final break.

At the final siren it was Glen Orden 15.9. (99) to Tarneit 8.10. (58).

Serafina Crea and Daniel Rosenzweig each kicked three goals in the victory. Soni Rainbow was also an important player for the Hawks.

The Hawks will now take on the Dragons at Pennell Reserve.

The last time they played, Sunshine Heights won by 31-points.
