COACH OF THE MONTH – JULY

The AFL Victoria – WRFL “Coach of the Month” in the Junior, Youth and Senior Age Groups for July 2018 have been announced.

This award recognizes some of the great work being done by local coaches in the Western region community and reinforces the importance of good Coaching in local football, schools and Auskick.

JUNIOR: Arnel Davis (Flemington Juniors)

Arnel has set clear, basic and appropriate goals for each of his players to improve upon. He has created an extremely inclusive environment, where the kids enjoyment and development are paramount. Arnel has also educated his players on the importance of inclusion and diversity – through different themed rounds and games. His players are seen to run, carry and enjoy their footy – whilst making a very conscious effort to share the ball. Arnel overall has been a great teacher for his players.

YOUTH: Adam Erian (Point Cook Football Club)

Adam is a coach that has been able to galvanise the playing group. He is well respected by all his players and his strengths have been the way he goes about planning and preparing for both training and on game day. His personalised approach to working with all players on an individual level to help them to improve has seen the team thrive this season.

SENIOR: Brandon Stone (Tarneit Titans)

Brandon has been able to provide an inclusive and welcoming environment for the Senior Women’s team at the Tarneit Titans Football Club. The players have been grateful for the respect and empathy he has shown over the last season and appreciate the effort he puts in to ensure all players continue to develop. Brandon has been able to create a close bond throughout the team and his dedication has not gone unnoticed by the playing group.

Congratulations Arnel, Adam and Brandon– very well deserved winners amongst a plethora of outstanding nominations.

All winning Coaches will receive an AFL Store Voucher for their efforts, and go in for nomination for the 2018 Coach of the Year.
