BULLDOGS WIN THRILLER

The Bulldogs have climbed to second on the Under 18 Division 2 ladder after defeating the Saints by a point.

The first term both sides fought hard for the contested footy, with the Saints registering three scoring shots to two from the Bulldogs to lead by a goal at the first change.

An inspired Bulldogs dominated the play throughout the second quarter with a goal from Jalen Jaimangal sparking a four-goal comeback, with the Bulldogs taking a 20-point lead at the main break.

As the wind picked up in the third term, so did the Saints. The Saints managed to narrow the margin to one point at the final change with Jye Temple inspiring the Saints with a brilliant goal.

The final term played in similar fashion to the opening term. Both sides scrapped hard for the footy as the Bulldogs and Saints took five scoring shots apiece as Point Cook held on to win their eighth match of the 2021 season.

Around the grounds, in another close contest, Werribee Districts defeated Newport by three points at Langshaw Reserve. Harrison Fulton earned best on ground honours for Werribee Districts.

In the final match of Round 15, Flemington Juniors secured win number 10 with a staggering 98-point win against Hoppers Crossing. Elias Manne was a standout with six goals.

In Round 16, Werribee Districts will play Tarneit at Keogh Homes Reserve, Hoppers Crossing hosts St Albans at Hogans Road Reserve and Newport will go head-to-head with Flemington Juniors at Langshaw Reserve.
