BROOKERS MAKE STATEMENT

Braybrook have enjoyed a strong 69-point victory over Sunshine Heights at Ainsworth Reserve in the Alan Mance Motors Division 3 competition.

The Brookers now sit third on the ladder, staying in touch with Albanvale and the Suns, who are both undefeated.

Shaun Buttigieg-Clarke nailed seven goals, combining with Rhys Mutch who kicked four.

Aidan O’Rafferty and Luke Zammit were influential for Braybrook, while Oscar Bennett and Thomas Phillips were best for the Dragons.

Braybrook face Tarneit next week, who are coming off the bye, whereas Sunshine Heights play North Sunshine.

North Sunshine were handed a smashing by Albanvale, with the Cobras prevailing by 132-points.

It was a positive start for North Sunshine, leading at quarter time by 15 points. But from there it was all Albanvale, kicking 24 of the next 26 goals.

Nathan Johnson bagged seven goals along with Matthew Taylor who slotted six.

Their goal-kicking prowess merged with the impressive performances of Daniel Backus and Joel Rattya capped off a tremendous day for the Cobras.

All eyes will be on the top-of-the-table clash between Albanvale and the Suns this week.

The Suns kept rolling on, dominating Laverton by 277-points.

Dean Cachia’s strong form continued, booting 13 goals alongside Paul Tomelty and Blake Jago who kicked six apiece.

The Suns shared the love with 11 separate goal-scorers in what was an emphatic display.

Laverton will have the chance to reset next week with the bye.
