WERRIBEE TO HOST WOMEN’S FOOTY WORKSHOP

The workshop follows the Women’s Skills Session hosted by the club in September and again focuses on fast-tracking skill development and game knowledge for local female players.

The evening will be hosted by Werribee VFL kicking coach David Newett and renowned tackle and takedown coach Malcolm Bangs and will feature sessions covering general skills such as gathering ground balls, quick handballs, and overhead marking; and contact-specific skills such as bumping and tackling both in general play and around stoppages.

Werribee community development manager Chris Gallagher said the workshop would offer something for newcomers and returning players who attended the previous session.

“It’s a good entry-level session for female players wanting to sharpen their skills, but it will take a slightly different direction to our last session and therefore provide something new for all the girls who attended back in September,” said Gallagher.
