MORRISON’S WRFL CONNECTION

Geelong’s star AFLW recruit and Number 1 pick in Tuesday’s NAB AFLW Draft, Nina Morrison, has a connection to the WRFL.

Morrison’s football journey began back in 2016 when she was a boundary umpire in the WRFL.

The talented footballer umpired junior matches two years ago and also umpired a Division 3 Reserves game and Under-19 lead-up final.

Since her umpiring debut, she has had a meteoric rise and was an obvious Number 1 pick for the Geelong Football Club.

Morrison was a member of the Geelong Falcons’ TAC Cup premiership team and spent the second part of the year playing with the Cats in the VFLW competition. Where she also played-off in a Grand Final.

She tied for the TAC Cup Best and Fairest, was co-MVP of the Under 18 National Championships, earned All Australian honours and was in the TAC Cup Team of the Year.
