CLASS OF 2018 – UNDER 19’S

WE are just days away from the WorkSafe AFL Victoria Community Championships, so it’s time we got to know the class of 2018 a little better. 

Check out the Player Profiles of all our members of the Under 19 Interleague Squad.

We get a little insight into what it means to them to put on the WRFL jumper, who they think is the best in the squad and their best footy advice they have been given.

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

Honour to be able to play with the best from the league.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

My old man for pushing me to be better both on and off the field.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Josh Drage- He isn’t the most solid thing going around but never shy’s away from the contest

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

10% Skill and Ability. 90% between the ears.

What has been your best footy moment?

Winning the flag in Under 16’s

 

Name: Bailey Siwek

Nickname: Bails

Club: Werribee Districts

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

An honour to be given an opportunity to play with the best players of the league.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

Western Jets.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Lucas Andrew- Takes the game on with run and carry.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Intensity will eventuate in getting involved in the game. Playing your role is most important.

What has been your best footy moment?

Playing for Victorian School Boys Under 12 team.

 

 

Name: Aaron Britten

Nickname: Britto

Club: Deer Park

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

It means a lot, especially coming from the GVFL, and wanting to make a name for myself in this league.

What has been your best footy moment?

Winning the GVFL Premierships.

Name: Adam Petridis

Nickname: Tip

Club: North Footscray

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

Would mean a lot due to wanting to play the best level that I can in the sport I am most passionate about. Would also be a very proud moment for myself and my club.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

My current coach Jono Miller due to his passion and care.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Lucas Andrew due to the fact that he played VFL.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Play every game like it’s your last.

What has been your best footy moment?

First Senior game- Round 1 2017.

 

Name: Jake Galea

Nickname: Jakey

Club: St Albans

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

It is a great honour playing alongside the best in the league.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

My brothers because they taught me everything I know and always give me feedback.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Never assume you’re out of the contest, never give up.

What has been your best footy moment?

Winner of the RDFL’s Under 16 Grand Final in 2015.

 

Name: Jehad Haddara

Nickname: Chad

Club: Altona

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

Great honour as I have before and privilege to represent WRFL.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

Bachar Houli always guiding me and pushing me to become the best.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Lucas because he’s always hard at the ball.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

See ball, get ball.

What has been your best footy moment?

When I played Jets and VFL in Development.

 

Name: Tom Rendle

Nickname: Wagon

Club: North Sunshine

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

Heaps. Have strived to be in a rep side my whole career and would love to be given the opportunity to represent the league proudly.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

Nick Riewoldt, his work ethic is something I aspire to.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Zain Neicho. I’ve played with him previously, his contested work is elite.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.

What has been your best footy moment?

Winning premierships.

 

Name: Chris Lear

Nickname: Leary

Club: Wyndham Suns

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

Means a lot to represent the league I’ve played with for 10 years.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

Michael Andrew- Developed my game a lot when I was younger.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Lucas Andrew- Always been a gun when I played with him.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Read the ball and you’ll beat your opponent.

What has been your best footy moment?

Kicking 5 goals in my 100th game. Laying a big tackle in the front of my bench in my first senior game.

 

Name: Joshua Mould

Nickname: Mouldy

Club: Wyndhamvale

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

It’s an honour. Reward for effort.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

Dad. Helps with training and skills.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Jehad Haddara – he plays Jets.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Kick on the left.

What has been your best footy moment?

Playing Western Jets and at Werribee in the VFL.

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

Doing my club and my team mates proud.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

Brendan Fevola.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Zak Busuttil because of his leadership.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

See ball, get ball.

What has been your best footy moment?

Being picked to play Senior Football.

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

Honoured to be put against the best with the best.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

Dad- He pushed me to be the best I could be from a young age.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Never doubt yourself or team mates.

What has been your best footy moment?

Just the Saturday/Sundays kicking with mates.

 

Name: Daniel Pantalleresco

Nickname: Dan Pan

Club: Altona

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

I love playing footy locally week in, week out, so getting the chance to represent the league and play the game I love means a lot.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

Collingwood as a team have influenced me to always go that step further to one day get the chance to play for them.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Zch Santull.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Go hard at the ball and take the game on.

What has been your best footy moment?

Winning Under 19’s Premiership on Whitten Oval.

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

It is a great honour to represent my league.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

My Dad because he was a great player.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Bailey Siwek, because I have grown up playing with him. He’s a great bloke and player.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Go in hard and never second guess yourself. Try your hardest.

What has been your best footy moment?

Playing Under 18’s when I was 14 years old.

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

A good experience and an honour.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

My parents because they push me to do my best.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Never give up.

What has been your best footy moment?

Under 17B Premiership with Caroline Springs.

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

A great privilege to represent the league I’ve been in for so many years.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

My Dad- He taught me a lot of things.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Bailey Siwek- Composure.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Get the hard ball.

What has been your best footy moment?

Playing two years of TAC Cup.

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

My Dad- He pushes me to be the best.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

See ball, get ball.

What has been your best footy moment?

3 Peat School footy. 

 

  Name: Anthony Tiricola

Club: Hoppers Crossing

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

It means a lot, as I loved representing the league in past opportunities. I love playing footy at high levels and I feel this is another great opportunity.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

My family and Dustin Martin. My family always does their best to make sure I’m right for games and help me out on the things I need and support me. Dusty also as he provides a good role model and how I want to play.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Bailey Siwak- because he is very clean with the ball and is a very smart player to play with.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

To never give up and keep giving my all.

What has been your best footy moment?

Playing 100 games and winning a Granny with my team mates. 

 

Name: Lachlan Goodland

Nickname: Stallion

Club: Altona

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

It means a lot, this is the first time I have represented in footy.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

My Dad.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Daniel P.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Go 110%.

What has been your best footy moment?

2017 Under 19’s Grand Final. 

 

Name: Zain Neicho

Nickname: Caroline Springs

Club: Neich

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

To play in a team with good blokes and to improve my skills as a footy player.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

My family because of the support they give.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Play your game.

What has been your best footy moment?

Winning a Premiership.

 

Name: Jy Lambley

Nickname: Muldarpi

Club: Caroline Springs

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

It’s a big achievement for me.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

My Dad- He has given me everything I needed to play footy. He taught me most of the things I know.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

We have the ball, they have the ball, it’s in dispute.

What has been your best footy moment?

Playing for Richmond and Hawthorn in the in the Laguntas and Eastern Eagle Hawks.

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

Looking forward to playing against the best players from another league.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

Dad, because he was always there to take me to the games.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Just enjoy your footy.

What has been your best footy moment?

First game of Seniors.

 

Name: Rylan Williams

Nickname: R.J.

Club: North Footscray

What does it mean to you to represent the WRFL?

Makes me proud to represent my region.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career and why?

My junior coaches, basically have made me the footballer I am today.

Who is the player you rate the best in the WRFL team and why?

Lucas Andrews, his skill and ability tops the rest.

What is the best footy advice you have been given?

Hunger, just to attack the ball and to do all the right things.

What has been your best footy moment?

2015- Marby Park semi-final, kicked 8 goals in last half to win the match.
